Don't Be Radicchioless

A blog by Marc Marchini, Sales and Marketing Manager for J Marchini Farms.

"I'm in California this week, and there is a huge, old fig tree in the front yard. It is absolutely laden down with figs, and it looks like this season will bring a bumper crop." - Jen's cooking blog

It looks like fresh figs are starting to show up in the news again. Karla from the California Fig Advisory Board sent me a post this week by Jen Hoy. Jen is excited about the coming fig season and contributes two recipes. She must know what a REAL fig looks like because the picture of the figs in the post is striking. The Mission figs are big, black, and cracked; the perfect appearance for flavor to a fig connoisseur. The two recipes sound really interesting as well. She uses fresh lime juice to tone down the fresh fig sweetness, something I've never tried before. Check out the entry by clicking the link below.

Indeed, the fresh Mission fig season is coming soon. We expect to start shipping on or around June 10th to all major cities across the United States. Look for Joe's Premium Mission Figs in your local retail store.
