A few weeks ago Joe Marchini’s mobile pizza oven was completed. The pizza oven is a traditional style Italian brick oven. Normally these ovens would have been confined to a person’s back yard, but now they can be taken anywhere to showcase the wholesome goodness of real cooking. The heat of the oven is created by burning wood for over two hours to get the hand-crafted stones to a piping hot 500 degrees. When using an authentic pizza oven to cook pizza it is important to use the correct ingredients. Dough is a main component of pizza and it is important to make it earlier in the day the traditional way. Make sure to seek out San Marzano tomatoes and fresh Mozzarella if you are making a Pizza Margarita, a must have pizza on the menu. The J. Marchini Farms brick oven is a fantastic example of bringing the old world tradition into the fast-paced new world.
Mobile pizza ovens are a very new idea and only a few exist in the United States. Mugnaini is a pizza oven distributor out of Watsonville California and they are one of the first to offer a complete mobile pizza oven.
