Black Mission Figs

Fresh Black Mission Figs

The most attractive aspect of fig growing is the seasonal feeling that comes when harvest begins. Fresh Black Mission figs have a small 1st crop in June, then suddenly stop. Once again, on new wood, the figs start again in August for a few months. Then they’re gone.

Dried Black Mission Figs

Black  Mission figs make great dried figs. We dry our overripe figs on trays then send them to California’s own fig co-op, Valley Fig Growers. We even keep a few around for snacks in the office since they keep for months in the refrigerator. There is nothing better than eating a dried fig in February from the trees in your back yard.
